Introduction to website Content Management Systems.This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Web Portals using an open-source web portal interface. It provides an overview and hands-on experience of how Web Portals works.

The course will cover basic Web Portal concepts such as search and navigation, information integration, personalization, and integration of applications. The course will cover Web Portal functionality and its key features and provides students the ability to take advantage of the open source portal interface.

Through lab exercises students are also shown how to install, configure, administer and maintain a web portal. In addition, students are shown how to add skins, containers and third party modules to change the look and feel and enhance the portal functionality. Students will end class with a fully functional web portal site.
