Online Course: An Introduction to the fundamentals of Structured Query Language (SQL) will offered at UCLA Extension.

This hands on course covers the fundamentals of Structured Query Language (SQL). SQL is an ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standard computer language for accessing and manipulating database systems. SQL works with database programs like MS Access, DB2, Informix, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, etc.

Designed for staff new to SQL, the course begins with an overview of SQL and how SQL statements are used to retrieve and update data in a database. Students will start by creating basic select statments and progress into the more detailed and complex features of SQL.

This will include using keywords such as SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, INSERT, WHERE, and others. In addition, course will cover table joins, sub-queries, if and case statements, cast and covert staments and much more. The queries presented will use Microsoft SQL Server
